The Producer will work closely with the Senior Director, History and Biography Digital, in leading production of the HISTORY & Bio Shorts primetime series that air on HISTORY and A&E.

HISTORY Shorts deliver the extraordinary stories behind everyday things and major events that changed culture forever, from the Moon Landing of ‘69 to the invention of the ice cream cone. BIO Shorts brings to life fascinating, unexpected stories about famous names of film, music, and pop culture, from Lady Gaga and Jordan Peele, to Tina Fey and Robin Willliams.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Producer, HISTORY & Bio Shorts (Temporary):

• Work with series EP to uncover episode story ideas

• Coordinate with researcher to develop story ideas for episodes

• Write entertaining, engaging, and conversational VO scripts for broadcast

• Provide timely draft scripts for review by series EP

• Lead script fact checking with internal and external team

• Research and organize stock image and broll footage for episode production

• Create rights bible for each episode

• Develop storyboard/outline with motion gfx editor to bring script to life

• Book and lead voiceover sessions with VO talent

• Direct music composer/mixer to design audio mix for each episode using series soundtrack beds and stems.

• Oversee production cuts with editors

• Incorporate EP production notes into final cuts

• Maintain tight production and delivery schedule

• Oversee delivery of videos per network and digital specs

• Maintain growing gfx toolkit with editors

• Grow list of outside editors, audio mixers, and production talent

YOUR STORY

• BA/BS Degree

• Proven track record producing motion graphics heavy, voiceover-driven shortform

• Understand script writing and storytelling for a broadcast audience

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple productions, creatives, and personalities

• Strong time management skills needed and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Deep knowledge of history and pop culture references, and shortform content landscape

• Comfortable with shifting deadlines and direction

• Have strong sense of story and a passion for biography-driven content

• Detailed-oriented and extremely organized

• Must have the ability to work independently, efficiently and be able to meet deadlines under strict time constraints

• Preferred skills: AIRTABLE, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Google Docs, Slack
